Think differently .. be creative... be innovative
How does this help in your job search?

There are Great ideas are all around. You have to be observant and just need to notice and apply your mind to your job hunt. When you do this, you will be ahead of many other job seekers, who spend their days and days surfing the net and emailing resumes.

Here are some of the many, many ideas you can follow in your job search ...

1) Planning a Strategy:
Choose the best way to reach your goals. This is not something unknown to you. Remember that when you are travelling, you choose the best way (route map) to reach your destination city. And every successful business entity engages in strategic planning to reach their revenue goals.

Take a writing pad and a pen. Simply write down the type of job you want, the time frame, and what you need to do to get there. That's it. Congratulations. You are now ahead of roughly more than a million job seekers, who have no clear goals, no written plans to reach them, and no way to know each day whether they're on track or not.

Now you do.

2) Read the Junk mails in your inbox.

If not for anything else, You can learn a lot from those sales letters you get in the mail every day. That's because email advertising companies that use direct mail to sell credit cards, fundraising appeals, etc. spend six and seven figures on research, to fine-tune every word in every letter.

So, because your cover letter is really a sales letter,selling an employer on reading your resume and calling you to interview, why not borrow an idea or two from your junk mail? Especially those letters that actually got you to buy something!

Here are some useful tips to get you started:

* Address the reader by name (never Dear Sir or Madam). AND never send an email with multiple addressees.
* Use clear, everyday language (most cover letters do NOT)
* End with a call to action (example: Please pick up the phone and call 612-555-1212)
* Include a P.S. at the bottom, to restate the letter's most important point (because a P.S. always gets read).


3) Visit Dating sites / matrimony sites

How is a job search connected to dating or matrimony? Plenty. Because job hunting is like finding a partner: it all comes down to meeting the right person and making him or her like you.

So why not borrow few tips? Just visit Amazon.com and type in how to meet women or how to meet men -- you'll find loads of ideas to translate to your job search.

To sum up, the new ideas that can transform your job search are out there. You might find them in nature (like cockleburr seeds), in a book on dating or from a website on matrimony, or someplace else. But you'll never know until you open your eyes and start looking creatively.

Now, go out and make your own luck!

Sonia and Congress find Solace with Ram

The greatness of Hindu religion and its tolerance was revealed when Sonia attended the Vijayadasami pooja. She was given a warm welcome for her change of stance. The Hindus should be proud of their behaviour, for, they did not indulge in dramatics.

One is not sure whether the Congress will finally understand the growing sentiments in the country. Ram is not just another word.. Ram is life. I remember my childhood days at Mumbai where the servants were called "Ram"

No other country will be tolerant as is India. For Indians repentance is good enough ..

Now How many more will vote for the Congress?

If you ask me ... enough is enough. Let us have a Hindu Respecting Government. The country needs a direction. This is a country of Majority Hindus.

We do not require reservations.. we have the power. And we do not want "concessions"...we have demonstrated "intellectual awareness"

Can Government lie before the Supreme Court

Sethusamudram project .. is it necessary to hold a bandh? Holding a rare sitting on a Sunday 30th September 2007 , the bench of Acting Chief of the Supreme Court of India , Justice B N Aggrawal and P P Naolekar ordered that the DMK and its allies shall not go ahead with the bandh either on October 1 or any other date, as the bandh per se was illegal and unconstitutional in view of the court’s earlier ruling on the validity of bandhs.

The Supreme Court passed the direction on an "urgent application" filed by the opposition AIADMK along with its special leave petition seeking an injunction against the bandh. The three-hour argument that preceded the direction saw the bench making some scathing and stinging remarks against the very concept of a bandh.

Stung by the court order, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi changed plans and decided that he and his alliance leaders would fast tomorrow in support of their demand. Declining to comment on the order, Karunanidhi told reporters "the hunger strike is for removal of Nandis (obstacles)" for speedy implementation of the project. Instead of the bandh, we will be observing a fast, he said.

The bench rejected arguments of senior counsel appearing for Tamil Nadu and the DMK that the October 1 protest programme was not a bandh call but a "hartal". The bench brushed aside the claims of the state and the DMK that what was essentially intended was a public meeting.

But immediately after the Court stayed the Bandh, Karunanidhi in his anger stated that, "Instead of the "bandh" we will be observing a fast..."

Now, the question is whether the Government can lie before the Court so as to mislead it?

And we find today 1st October 2007 that the Public transport buses ( owned by State Government Corporations ) are not plying on the roads, leading to grave hardship to the common public. Is the ruling political party entitled to disregard the orders of the Apex Court?

The Supreme Court on Monday 1st October 2007 pulled up the Tamil Nadu government for failing to comply with its order on a bandh call given by the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

The apex court warned the Tamil Nadu government of initiating contempt of court proceedings and said, if necessary, it will not hesitate to summon the chief secretary and the chief minister.

"Is this the government? Is this the Tamil Nadu government? Is it the DMK government, a strong ally of the United Progressive Alliance government? If this is the attitude of the DMK government, the UPA government should not feel shy of dismissing it and impose President's Rule," the court observed.

Philosophy and Travel. Have visited more than 300 Shiva temples across the country.

An active member of Pradhosha Vazhipattu Kuzhu -- a group of Devotees who perform Pradosha pooja at a new temple every pradosham. Our group has discovered many Shiva temples in dilapidated conditions and performed Pradosha pooja subsequent to which the local villagers have become interested and have renovated these temples and performed Kumbabishekam.

Undertook Yatra to the Holy Amarnath Cave for a Darshan of the wonderful Ice Lingam at an altitude of 18500 ft. in the year 2003.

During that year journeyed through Kashmir Valley and had the Darshan at Shankarachrya Temple at the hill near the famous Dal Lake and also the Darshan of Kheer Bhavani at Tulla Mulla.

In Jammu had darshans at Raghunath Temple, Peer Cove and Mata Di Vaishno Devi at Katra.

Recently in June 2006 , undertook the most revered yatra ( Pilgrimage) to the highest, holiest site in the world -- Holy Manasarover and Mount Kailash. Could enjoy the beautiful Himalayas and the Sand dumes in the Himalayan desert.. To view the beautiful DVD / CD contact : priya@kbsconsultants.com
